At the FIGC’s request, UEFA have now confirmed the host stadiums for the Elite Round of the U19 European Championship. Padua will be the competition’s centre of operations with the Stadio Euganeo set to host Italy’s last game of the round against Norway on Tuesday 31 March. The first two games against Slovenia and Iceland, Italy’s other opponents in Group 5, will be played on Tuesday 25 March at the Stadio Monteortone (Abano Terme) and on Saturday 28 March at the municipal stadium in Mogliano Veneto. All of the Azzurrini’s matches will be played at 15:00 CET and will be broadcast live on Rai Sport. The matches between Iceland and Norway and Norway and Slovenia will both be played at the Fair Play Stadium in Cartigliano.

The U19 National Team, coached by Alberto Bollini since last summer, go into this second stage after having progressed through the first round last November with maximum points after wins over Malta, Cyprus and Slovakia. This isn’t a first for the city of Padua, already having hosted the same stage of the competition in 2016 and 2019, the Azzurrini progressing to the final stage of the European Championship on both occasions.

Only the team in top spot will progress through to the final stage, which will take place in Northern Ireland from 19 July to 1 August. The final stage will also influence qualification for the U20 World Cup in Indonesia in November 2021.
