The DFB has announced the cancellation of the friendly match between Germany and Italy in Nuremberg
Following the city’s ban on events of more than 100 people, the German Football Federation has decided to cancel the friendly matchSaturday, March 14, 2020
There will be no friendly match between Germany and Italy, originally scheduled for 31 March in Nuremberg: the DFB, the German Football Federation, received a communication this evening from the city’s authorities banning events of more than 100 people and consequently decided to cancel the match, which was already arranged to be played behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 virus emergency and for which refunds had already been made to Italian ticket holders.
The two international friendly matches for the Azzurri have therefore been cancelled, after the English Football Federation had also decided to cancel the game on 27 March at Wembley. With these decisions and the National Team’s activities in the coming months in mind, the FIGC will participate in a videoconference meeting promoted by UEFA in order to assess the international calendar, starting by reviewing the matches scheduled for March (not only were friendly games scheduled, but also the Euro 2020 play-offs) and then the European Championship.
