The campaign, #TheRulesOfTheGame, kicks off today with the FIGC seeking to raise awareness for the rules to be followed to contain the spread of Covid-19 through the Azzurri and Azzurre.

In a particularly difficult period for the country, the male and female National Team players want to support the positive behaviour advised by the authorities.

The #TheRulesOfTheGame campaign, launching today across sports media, will be developed on the FIGC, Azzurri and Azzurre’s official channels and will consist of many National Team players running through eleven rules of the game, a challenge different to any other. Each campaigner will create a story and a short video in which they will declare their own rule and invite the public to share the message and interact with the campaign’s official hashtag.

Today, we start with Coach Mancini’s input: “RULE #1 THE NATIONAL TEAM’S NEW GAME PLAN IS 1-1-1: we are keeping at least one metre away from each other to fight the spread of the coronavirus.”

Coaches Milena Bertolini and Roberto Mancini have joined the FIGC campaign and many players will also be involved: Leonardo Bonucci, Federico Chiesa, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Alia Guagni, Manuela Giugliano, Cristiana Girelli, Ciro Immobile, Jorginho, Nicolò Zaniolo. Other Azzurri and Azzurre players will participate in the project in the coming days before captains Giorgio Chiellini and Sara Gama will then conclude the campaign.

The campaign also aims to support the health facilities, who are confronting this emergency firsthand, by inviting all Italians to donate. Regarding this, the FIGC has decided to donate €100,000 to the Lazzaro Spallanzani National Institute for Infectious Diseases in Rome.

Gabriel Gravina declared: “Thanks to the involvement of the Azzurre and the Azzurri, the FIGC intends to promote responsible behaviour, as well as supporting the health personnel who are confronting this emergency with great professionalism and also making financial donations to health organisations. Football can do a lot even when it’s not being played, and with the #TheRulesOfTheGame we encourage all Italians to take part in and win the match against Coronavirus together.”

RULE #2. ONLY PLAY AT HOME: Try to use this time to discover the pleasure of being at home.
RULE #3. PROTECT YOUR HANDS WITH GLOVES: To combat the spread of coronavirus, remember to wash your hands regularly.
RULE #4. DEFEND OTHER GOALS: Elderly people, families, neighbours. During this time let’s help each other out.
RULE #5. AVOID CROWDING IN THE BOX: To limit the spread of coronavirus, we have to avoid gatherings, especially in tight spaces.
RULE #6. IMPROVE COMMUNICATION: To limit the spread of coronavirus, we must convince everyone to be more responsible.
RULE #7. DON’T GET CAUGHT ON THE COUNTER: There’s a lot of fake new circulating about coronavirus, always check where the news comes from.
RULE #8. LIMIT BREAKS DOWN THE WING: In order to limit the spread of coronavirus, we must limit its movement.
RULE #9. EXPLOIT ALL SPACES: Even though we’re staying indoors, we must always try to stay active.
RULE #10. USE YOUR IMAGINATION: In order to spend this quarantine period in the best possible way, we mustn’t lose our spirit.
RULE #11. DO EVERYTHING FOR THE TEAM TO WIN: To limit the spread of coronavirus, we must be stubborn and spur each other on.
