Heading towards the World Cup. Italy make it two wins from two in second friendly against Slovenia

Italy secured another good result in their second friendly against Slovenia following on from their 3-1 win two days ago. At the Colaussi in Gradisca, Carmine Nunziata’s side emerged 3-0 victors in a display which once more emphasised their superiority. The first half finished with Italy in front by two goals after efforts from Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove and Juventus youngster Franco Tongya after 15 and 33 minutes respectively. Nunziata made eight changes at half-time and it continued to be one-way traffic, with Milan player Andrea Capone grabbing Italy’s third.
Tomorrow, the Azzurrini will return to their respective clubs. At the start of September, they will meet back up again at the CPO in Rome to take part in a training camp. During this period, they will face Serbia on 7 September and then once again two days later as they look to continue their preparations for the World Cup. The Under-18s will then get together at the CPO in Tirrenia from 6 to 13 October before flying out to Brazil, where the World Cup will take place from 26 October to 17 November.
