Training protocol, the FIGC: the CTS’ all-clear decisive for football’s return
Gravina: “I’ve expressed my satisfaction to Ministers Spadafora and Speranza at the openness to debate and active collaboration that has seen us reach this important point”Tuesday, May 19, 2020
“The approval of the protocol on group training is a decisive step in the road to restarting football in Italy,” were the words of FIGC President Gabriele Gravina on the positive feedback from the government’s Scientific Technical Committee, which will allow professional teams to begin with the most intense phase of their preparations.
“I have expressed to the Minister of Sport Vincenzo Spadafora and the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza both my own and the FIGC’s satisfaction at the openness to debate and active collaboration in this process,” Gravina continued, “all of which has seen us reach this important point. The goal was reached through teamwork with representatives from Serie A and the Italian Medical Sports Federation presided by Maurizio Casasco, who I would like to thank. I would like to highlight the valuable work carried out by the FIGC’s Scientific Medical Commission, composed of a number of esteemed and respected professionals, who have all acted and continue to act with rigor and a willingness to help. The scientific structure of the protocol has the aim of protecting the health of all of those involved in order to allow professional football to restart safely.”
The FIGC’s Scientific Medical Commission is already at work on drawing up a health protocol for the much-desired return of competitive football.
