The National Agency for Assets Confiscated from Organized Crime has consigned the 'Salaria Sport Village' to the Metropolitan Council of Rome and, on the basis of an agreement already signed, the Campidoglio and the FIGC will carry out an ambitious project to upgrade Italy's largest sports centre.

The progress was made in a meeting held this morning, which was followed by an inspection of the structure, attended by the director of the National Agency for Confiscated Crime Property Bruno Frattasi, the Mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi, the President of the FIGC Gabriele Gravina and officials from the Metropolitan Council and the Lazio Region.

The project is the fruit of a collaboration between the FIGC and the Metropolitan Council, and it aims to create a multi-purpose venue that will become the new "Home of the Azzurri". The venue will host the national conventions of various Italy National teams, to enhance all the existing sports facilities, thanks to close work with other Federations and, for the first time, to create a centre open to all, with full disabled access. Moreover, the FIGC intends to make it the headquarters of the newly established Paralympic and Experimental Football Division.
