The reigning champions Juventus will begin their season at Parma. The second matchday brings the ‘big match’ of Juventus against Napoli as well as the Rome derby. The season concludes with Juve vs. Roma and Napoli vs. Lazio.

The fixture list for the new Serie A season was unveiled tonight in Milan. A league campaign that promises to be exciting, with Inter and Napoli the most likely candidates to stop the march of a Juventus who have now won the last eight league titles in a row. The season begins on 24 August and will conclude on 24 May as attentions turn to EURO 2020, the first European Championship in history to be held across multiples countries, which will kick off at the Olympic Stadium in Rome on 12 June.

There will be three mid-week rounds (25 September, 30 October and 22 April) and four international breaks (8 September, 13 October, 17 November and 29 March) in a championship that will commence with two matches between the clubs of Rome and Genoa (Roma vs. Genoa and Sampdoria vs. Lazio). The opening day also sees the first 'big match' between Fiorentina and Napoli, whilst the reigning champions Juventus will begin their season away to Parma. Fate would have it that President of Brescia Cellino returns to Cagliari, and Antonio Conte will start his league campaign against his first club as a player, Lecce. The first big clashes arrive on just the second matchday, with the Rome derby and the huge fixture between Juventus and Napoli. The Milan derby takes place on matchday four and matchday seven sees Inter face Juventus.

We must then wait until matchday twelve for Juventus vs. Milan and 15 December for the “Derby della Lanterna” (Derby of the Lantern) between Sampdoria and Genoa. The final day will also be a thrilling one with two notably exciting matches: Juventus vs. Roma and Napoli vs. Lazio.

The presentation, broadcast live on Sky Sport, was attended by FIGC President Gabriele Gravina, Vice President Cosimo Sibilia, General Manager Marco Brunelli, AIA President Marcello Nicchi, Lega Serie A President Gaetano Micciché, Managing Director Luigi De Siervo and Serie A referee designator Nicola Rizzoli.

"Any tensions and quarrels have been put aside and, thanks to the President of Serie A Micciché and the other presidents here today, a fantastic relationship of participation has been established. When we manage to develop ideas and projects, when we look to the future, we can succeed in building it together. There’s a lot of enthusiasm and this is the result of great work and collaboration."
