Having received instructions from the Council of Ministers yesterday on the Coronavirus emergency in Italy, along with guidance from the Italian National Olympic Committee, the Italian Football Federation has ordered the postponement of all footballing activities in the regions of Lombardy and Veneto. Over the course of today, the postponement of all sporting activities in Turin was also ordered.
President Gabriele Gravina has organised a task force of federation doctors at the FIGC headquarters tomorrow morning at 10:00 CET, with the aim of better analysing the situation and finding a more precise strategy for all of the National Teams’ upcoming activities.
Prof. Paolo Zeppilli, Prof. Andrea Ferretti, Dr. Carmine Costabile, Prof. Roberto Cauda, Director of the Clinical Area and of the Complex Operating Unit of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases of the Gemelli Policlinic in Rome, will all attend the meeting with Gravina, along with more representatives of the Ministry of Health and Sport.
In anticipation of further instructions, a decision was also taken to postpone the meetings of the men’s and women’s U19 National Teams scheduled for the coming days. Coach Roberto Mancini’s training camp with the Youth National Teams, starting with the Under-19s on Monday and Tuesday, will thus not take place at this date.
